Living So Hum
“Life should not be about surviving, it should be about thriving. “
So = inhale // Hum = exhale
I cannot tell you how long I settled in my life for “okay”. Content but not exhilarated. Living, but not alive. I continuously fell into bouts of “stuckness” - fight, flight or freeze - that I could never shake. I tried to heal one part of myself at a time thinking “if I become more fit, my mind will settle” or “if I practice yoga, I’ll find the answers to my problems”. While those instincts were not wrong, I was not utilizing my full power of healing. Instead of looking at my health as whole (body, mind and soul), I tried making healing all about the physical. It wasn’t until I began a holistic approach to living that healing took place.
Physical - Mental - Emotional - Spiritual
So Hum was dreamt out of the idea that we are all apart of something larger than ourselves. Not only do we exist within the Universe, the Universe has the potential to thrive within us.
Hi! I’m Ash. I am driven by a profound aspiration—to create a space where healing is not only attainable but also readily accessible to everyone. The idea for So Hum emerged from my belief that we are all interconnected and contribute to a greater universal purpose. In unity, we thrive; in togetherness, we heal.
After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Directing with a minor in Applied Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, I began a transformative journey. I moved to Minnesota, where I earned a Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from the Yoga Center of Minneapolis and a Nutrition Coaching Certificate from Precision Nutrition. I am currently pursuing my Ayurveda Practitioner Certificate from the Yoga Veda Institute to further expand my expertise.
In August 2020, I found solace and healing in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by the nurturing embrace of trees, the calming ocean, and the presence of family.
I also hold an Integrative Trauma Therapy Certificate from The Embody Lab, where I guide clients toward presence and embodiment through somatic and energy healing practices.
Beyond my work in the wellness realm, I serve as a compassionate guide, helping clients navigate their healing journey. I thoughtfully plan individualized trips for them—a symbolic step into a new chapter of their transformative odyssey.
Embracing a holistic approach to healing, I blend Eastern and Western medicine principles to bring peace to the body, mind, and soul. My unwavering belief in the interconnectedness of these elements fuels my commitment to facilitating comprehensive healing experiences for those on their unique journeys.
